In contrast, such a good news became a heartbreak and sorrow to thousands vulnerable refugee and host community children who knew that there would never be a chance for them to access school.
In Kyaka II refugee Settlement as it might be the case for other vulnerable children worldwide with a strong need of support to get enrolled for a quality education, this case include drop-outs and never went to school children.
Responding to the matter, LHI, through its Special Education for the Most Vulnerable Refugee Children – SEMVRC Project enrolled 40 vulnerable refugee children in 2 schools – Itambabiniga Primary School and Kaborogota P.S.
LHI paid tuition and bought them scholastic materials, and also shall keep following on daily basis their academic performance to supply for Mental Health and Psychosocial Support in case it’s what needed for them to work better at school.
Even though these children were enrolled, other 45 on list remained uneducated because of lack of support. Also, other thousands of the children in the refugee Settlement remain uneducated because of lack of the means.
