Binja Christiane is the second of three siblings, born to Congolese parents. Tragically, her father passed away, leaving Binja and her siblings to live with their mother in Kyaka II Refugee Settlement in Uganda. Life is challenging for Binja, as her mother struggles to care for the family and provide education, making learning difficult. Binja often feels unhappy due to the harsh conditions of refugee life but remains hopeful for a better future. Her dream is to become a nurse. She recalls a moment at school when a colleague fell and got a wound. Using herbal medicine, Binja treated the injury, and it healed. She realized this was a natural talent and felt a strong calling to pursue nursing. Although her mother cannot afford to educate her, Binja hopes that with a sewing machine or a small business, her mother could support the family, allowing Binja to focus on her studies and future aspirations.
