Education Support and Children Sponsorship Program

Let’s Help International (LHI) is actively engaged in promoting education, recognizing the significance of both formal and informal education, particularly in refugee settlements such as Kyaka II Refugee Settlement in Uganda.

In terms of formal education, LHI focuses on assisting vulnerable children, specifically refugee children, who face challenges in accessing education. Through the Education for the Most Vulnerable Refugee Children (SEMVRC) Project, LHI identifies out-of-school children in the Kyaka II Refugee Settlement and provides comprehensive support. This support includes covering school fees, supplying scholastic materials, conducting follow-up activities, and offering psycho-social assistance. By addressing the barriers to education, LHI strives to ensure that refugee children have the opportunity to receive a formal education and build a brighter future for themselves. In addition to formal education, LHI also recognizes the importance of informal education and provides valuable digital skills training to residents of the Kyaka II Refugee Settlement. This training equips individuals with essential skills for the digital age, including email usage, social media management, proposal and grant writing, reporting, web and graphic design, multimedia skills, and other practical life skills. LHI goes beyond traditional education by empowering refugees with relevant skills that can enhance their employability, improve their livelihoods, and foster their self-reliance. LHI’s work in education is crucial not only in refugee settlements but also around the world. Education plays a pivotal role in empowering individuals, breaking the cycle of poverty, promoting social integration, and fostering peace. In refugee settlements, where individuals have often been displaced from their homes due to conflict or persecution, access to education is even more critical. Education provides a sense of normalcy, restores hope, and enables refugees to rebuild their lives.

By supporting both formal and informal education initiatives, LHI recognizes the diverse educational needs of individuals in refugee settlements. Formal education ensures that children have access to quality schooling and academic development, while informal education equips individuals with practical skills that can enhance their resilience and enable them to navigate the challenges they face. LHI’s commitment to education in refugee settlements reflects the organization’s understanding of education’s transformative power and its ability to create a brighter future for those who have been forcibly displaced.
